Scotland wedding

There are not much peculiarities of this wedding. In most cases it is a wedding typical for a number of European countries and for a number of cultures. Just like any other wedding it starts with engaging. Though, the period between engaging and wedding is not as long as in most cultures. Actually, there are no restrictions about engaging period. It may last for a month of for several months long. Just like German people the Scotland people give their bride an engaging ring. There are also no restrictions about this ring. It may be of different kinds, whether with incrusted rocks or not. The choice of the ring mostly depends on a woman and on man's desire to impress her.

There is also a wedding ring except the engaging. The wedding ring is ringed on the fourth finger of the bride on her wedding day. Bride also rings her husband with a wedding ring. Before ringing each other the bride and fiancé listen for priest who is talking about wedding and other stuff. The national anthem of Scotland accompanies the wedding; it is typical for all religious weddings at Scotland. Actually the religious wedding ceremony is typical for Scotland and there are a few people who prefer civil ceremony before religious one.

At the end of his speech the priest asks fiancé and bride whether they are ready to love each other no matter what happens till the day the death will separate them and so on and so forth. After that the future husband and wife has to make their promises to each other. Those promises are not only the I-do-phrase, but there are promises written special for the wedding day and those promises are pronounced. Once the promises are pronounced they ring each other and – here you go – a husband may kiss his bride. The veil is removed of her face and the happy newly-made husband kisses his happy just as newly-made wife.

What is peculiar for Scotland wedding is a dressing of the fiancé. He has to wear national clothes of Scotland and those clothes are kilt and special short jacket off course. It is necessary for a man to wear typical national kilt but not any kilt he likes. Typical kilt of Scotland is the one with black-and-red squares. There is no another color for typical kilt to be. Sure, if there are foreign guests at the wedding they are allowed to wear dark green kilts and no one will get offended with the color of their kilts.

There are no restrictions for bride. It is common for brides at Scotland to wear just the same white wedding dresses the most of women all over the world wear. The veil is also a common feature for wedding dress of Scotland bride. Though, there are four rules obligatory for Scotland brides. These rules are: to wear something new, something blue, something borrowed and something old. But these rules are not hard for following. Most brides wear something new-blue and something borrowed-old.
