Each country and culture has its peculiar features of the wedding ceremony. Those features are unique and typical only for certain natures. There is a variety of cultures in the world and so there is a variety of features peculiar only for one nation. Moreover, it is common that different districts of the same country have different wedding customs that are unusual even for people of the same country but of different districts. For example the tradition of guests inviting for wedding is peculiar for different districts of the same country. There are districts where it is enough to send a card for people one wants to see at the wedding, but it is necessary for couple to visit every family they want to see at their wedding for another district.

So, there is a number of wedding customs peculiar only for each nation and we are going to tell you about them in this article. It is common for Russian wedding for fiancé to redeem his bride. The relatives of bride hide her in some room and that room is locked. The key is hidden in one of a numerous balloons the room is decorated with. No need to say that it is not an easy task for fiancé to find out that there is a key hidden in balloon. So, the only thing he can do is to pay money until there will be enough of money and the "kidnappers" let him see his future wife.

Another interesting wedding custom is a typical custom for the wedding of Chechnya. First of all it is necessary to say that there are different rooms for man and women. Women are not allowed to stay in the same room with men. During the wedding party the bride covered with numerous clothes stays steel at the corner waiting for someone to call her. If there is someone who wants to congratulate her with a wedding he calls her "Hey, bring me some water!" and the newly-made wife brings a bowl with water. The one who called her drinks some water and puts a coin in the bowl and that is the congratulations.

The Nigerian people also have some wedding customs one will hardly see at the wedding ceremony of another nation. This is rather cruel and very painful custom. The idea of this wedding custom is testing a fiancé for what he is ready t do for his wife. They managed to find no another way of testing but...the beating fiancé with sticks. On his way to his future wife a fiancé has to pass over the passage created by bride's relatives. As he is passing that corridor each relative beats him with a stick. And those hits are rather painful and performed not as a common honor the tradition but as real hits.

As you can see each nation has its peculiar wedding customs that are typical only for that country or even for a single district of some country. A great number of explanations may be given in order try to realize where those customs came from, but there is no need in doing it. It is better to accept things like they are. There are traditions that common for several countries and it is okay, but there are also traditions that can be seen only at the wedding of certain nation and it is also okay. People are different, nations are different and the histories of nations are different. And so the wedding customs are also different.
